Part-Time Noon Aide
Job DescriptionApplicants must provide all required documents with a completed application to be considered. Incomplete application packets will not be considered. We have several part-time, 2 to 2.25-hour openings for a 9.5-month employee, Monday through Friday at various school sites for the 2025 – 2026 school year. The work hours vary by site/position.
Basic function is to provide a safe environment for students during morning and noon times.
Essential job functions include playground supervision of students during playtime and arrival time, ensuring that students are respecting others and demonstrating proper and safe use of the equipment. The willingness and ability to move about the assigned work area, being visible and interacting with the kids in a positive manner. Resolve student conflicts and develop solutions to student issues. Managing the behavior of students during their lunchtime.
This includes moving among students while they are eating, reminding them to pick up their trash and excusing them to the playground in a safe manner. Other appropriate duties as assigned. Skills required include effective communication with students and staff. Knowledge of district and site policies related to student behavior and supervision. Ability to provide proactive supervision.
Experience:
None required.
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of high school.
Physical demands include light work, which involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Application and selection process includes obtaining an employment application and job description online or at the district office. Permanent employees may submit a request to transfer. Qualified applicants will participate in a written examination and technical oral interview.
The eligibility list will be certified for a period of six months. Individuals with legally defined disabilities may request reasonable accommodation in the examination process. Veterans who have been honorably discharged after 30 days or more of service during time of war or national emergency will receive an additional 5 points which will be added to the passing score. Disabled veterans receive 10 points.
Prior to employment, the following must be completed: pre-employment examinations, fingerprinting, physical examination, tuberculosis exam, and an eligibility verification form (I-9).
