Manufacturing Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists
The Detailer/Programmer is responsible for preparing timely, accurate detailed shop drawings in a proactive and professional manner. This role requires coordination with project managers, estimators, administrative staff, field employees, and management to ensure all aspects of the detailing process are thorough and complete. The Detailer/Programmer will work closely with the project manager to ensure project needs are met by the drawings prepared.

We have plans to expand into automation equipment to improve efficiency and precision in fabrication. While specific equipment has not yet been finalized, the candidate will be a key player and must be capable and willing to assist in the research of such equipment and learn the programs required to ensure everything flows together from office to shop. Candidates with experience and interest in these technologies will have opportunities to contribute to process improvements and future implementation.
EssentialFunctions

- Develop accurate, complete, professional, timely and detailed shop drawings.
- Participate in project coordination meetings with the leadership team.
- Visit jobsites to take accurate field measurements prior to beginning shop drawings.
- Resolve technical problems and communicate with project managers or clients for clarification.
- Verify subcontract scope and alert project manager if change orders are needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation integration.
- Knowledge of building and construction standards and methods.
- Proficiency in metal fabrication and installation, including structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, ladders, etc.)
- Strong CAD skills and familiarity with MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read blueprints and apply correct tool use.
- Preferred:
Familiarity with CNC machinery. - Strong problem-solving, time management, and adaptability skills.

- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years CAD Software Experience
- 3+ years Detailing Experience – Structural and/or miscellaneous metals
- Preferred:
Exposure to automated fabrication equipment and/or willingness to learn
This role is primarily based in a professional office setting, with occasional visits to construction sites. Work may occur indoors or outdoors and can involve exposure to loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous materials. At times, tasks may require working in high or confined spaces, awkward positions, or around heavy equipment.
Physical DemandsThis position requires the ability to maintain balance, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces. Tasks may involve grasping and handling small tools, prolonged sitting or standing (4-8 hours) and frequent computer use. Good vision (with or without correction) is essential. Occasionally outdoor work and phone communication is required.
