The Newton South Norfolk Area Office of the Department of Developmental Services is seeking a Clinical Coordinator. The area office is located in Walpole and covers 16 cities and towns; serving over 2,200 adults and children with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. There are over 30 different providers contracted with the Newton South Norfolk Area Office.

The Clinical Coordinator will facilitate and mediate multi-disciplinary meetings comprised of various invested stake holders which may include: families, agencies, hospitals, forensic teams, Service Coordinators, and other involved parties. They will be the liaison for community support agencies involved in crisis management. They will consult with clinicians and Service Coordinators regarding behavior plans and Positive Behavioral Supports, and participate in area office Risk meetings.

Other duties include but are not limited to the list below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as the Liaison for the Family Support agencies, including conducting semi-annual quality review and expenditure audits.
  • Act as the Liaison for the BTS clinic through Riverside Community Services and for the Metro Clinical services including OT/PT, First Team, O&M.
  • Work with the Area Office Nurse and BCBA. Assist with oversight of hospital admissions and short‑term rehabilitation facilities.
  • As part of the Senior Staff, participate in the MASSCAP team and conduct clinical assessments related to risk and placement planning.
  • Act as the Liaison for other state agencies that provide clinical services – Department of Mental Health, Department of Public Health, and Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.

This is a Full‑time, 37.5 hour position.

Shift: 8:45am – 5:00pm

Days Off:
Saturday and Sunday

Flexibility required to meet the needs of the Area Office.

Minimum Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part‑time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
