The Education Cooperative (TEC) is an educational collaborative and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in

E. Walpole, MA that develops and coordinates educational and organizational programs to meet the needs of our 19 member communities and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their school programs and expands opportunities for their students, educators and communities in the most cost effective manner.

TEC has three special education schools across two campuses, providing special education programming to approximately 100 students with significant special needs. We are committed to providing a clean, safe, welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

THE ROLE:

The Education Cooperative (TEC) is hiring a full-time custodian to join our team of custodians who work to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude who is interested in joining an organization that takes pride in its work.

This position offers a competitive pay rate and is benefits eligible (e.g. paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, etc.).

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and other school areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies.
• Maintain and stock cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment needs.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events and activities.
• Weekly cleaning of school vans.
• Ensure that all safety and cleaning protocols are followed.

Full-time

$25 per hour

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is preferred, but not required.

Work takes place in classrooms and other school rooms/areas, including offices, within a school building setting, primarily indoors. The position offers a friendly, supportive work environment.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed. May endure repeated use of abdominal and lower back muscles in performing functions.
