Job Description

The Virtual School Psychologist conducts comprehensive evaluations, supports eligibility determination, and provides consultation and intervention services to ensure students with disabilities receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in accordance with IDEA and Massachusetts regulations (603 CMR 28.00). This role operates in a fully virtual environment and requires strong collaboration, data‑driven decision‑making, and adherence to compliance timelines and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Assessment
    • Conduct comprehensive psycho educational evaluations (initial and reevaluations) within required timelines.
    • Select, administer, and interpret standardized and non‑standardized assessments.
    • Conduct record reviews, interviews, and virtual observations.
    • Prepare clear, compliant, and defensible written reports that address disability areas, provide eligibility data, and include educational impact and recommendations.
  • Eligibility and Team Participation
    • Serve as a core member of the IEP team.
    • Present evaluation findings in a clear, understandable manner.
    • Support teams in applying MA eligibility criteria.
    • Assist in developing data‑driven IEP goals and service recommendations.
  • Consultation and Intervention Support
    • Collaborate with teachers, team chairs, and service providers to support student learning and behavior.
    • Provide consultation on social‑emotional behavior interventions, executive functioning supports, crisis prevention and response.
    • Assist in developing and monitoring intervention plans.
  • Progress Monitoring and Data Analysis
    • Support teams in analyzing student progress data and evaluating intervention effectiveness.
    • Contribute to data‑based decision‑making for IEP development and service adjustments.
    • Participate in MTSS processes as needed.
  • Compliance and Documentation
    • Ensure evaluations and reports are completed within state timelines.
    • Maintain accurate documentation in district systems.
    • Adhere to confidentiality requirements (FERPA, IDEA).
    • Participate in audit readiness activities.
  • Virtual Service Delivery
    • Conduct evaluations, meetings, and consultations using virtual platforms.
    • Engage effectively with students and families remotely.
    • Utilize technology to support assessment, communication, and service delivery.
  • Professional Responsibilities
    • Participate in professional development and ongoing training.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in meetings, supervision, and problem‑solving sessions.
    • Maintain licensure and stay current with best practices and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Required
    • Master’s or higher degree in School Psychology.
    • Valid Massachusetts School Psychologist license.
    • Experience conducting psycho educational evaluations.
    • Knowledge of IDEA and Massachusetts special education regulations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred
    • Experience in a virtual or hybrid school setting.
    • Familiarity with Frontline or similar platforms.
    • Experience with diverse student populations, including complex needs.
    • Bilingual/multilingual skills.
