Lts Transition/Intervention Coach
Walpole Public Schools is seeking an LTS Transition/Intervention Coach at Walpole High School, effective August 31, 2026, through January 27, 2027 (1st semester).
The Transitions Program at Walpole High School traditionally works with all students who are returning from appropriate long or short-term absences due to medical or emotional reasons. The Transitions Program assists students and their families with the process of reentry and reintegration into the school community by offering academic support and facilitating appropriate emotional counseling. The Transitions Program is temporary placement where participation would typically range from 3 to 10 weeks.
This is a non-union, school-year position, 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with teachers, guidance, students and parents throughout reentry and reintegration process in collaboration with social worker and student's school counselor.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure that the transition student can maintain coursework and tailor coursework when appropriate in collaboration with social worker and student's school counselor.
- Conduct individual and small group tutoring sessions with students in grades nine through twelve, or cover classes or duties for teachers working with transition students.
- Work closely with therapeutic staff to ensure transition students have appropriate counseling and support.
- Support the implementation of the school's MTSS and SST.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred, guidance degree/experience would be helpful
- Teaching and/or tutoring experience, especially with at-risk students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must work well as a team member
