Heat Treat Furnace Technician

Working with minimal supervision perform scheduled TUS/SAT as well as work with maintenance and outside agencies to maintain and troubleshoot furnaces. Support engineering with the design of new heat-treat tooling, fixtures & combs. Ensure proper equipment calibration and compliance to all internal and external governing documents.

Essential Elements:

• Train and support team members to ensure all work conforms to quality and industry requirements.
• Overall responsibility for the planning & scheduling of the preventive and routine maintenance of three heat treat furnaces and ultra-low temperature freezer.
• Responsible for the management and performance of heat-treating equipment pyrometry.
• Coordinating maintenance schedule with planning and production management to reduce interruption to product flow and equipment down time.
• Serve as Heat Treat Department liaison with Engineering for all external and internal audits to ensure compliance to applicable procedures.
• Work with furnace operators to create heat treat and brazing process sheets and submit to Engineering for review and approval.
• Confer with engineers on the design and implementation of new tooling and improvement to existing tooling and procedures.
• Consult with suppliers about equipment issues, obtain quotes for new equipment, and repair services.
• Maintain tooling database (combs and heat treat fixtures) and order replacements as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate level of consumables including thermocouples, braze paste, braze shims, and replacement parts for all equipment.
• Ensure proper record keeping and storage for all created historical documents.
• Achieve and maintain appropriate Operator Authorizations as required.
