Position

The Global R&D Controller for Siemens Healthineers Point of Care (POC) will initiate, execute and evaluate planning, analysis and reporting activities within the business area. Working with a cross-functional team, this role will lead data‑driven analytics to generate financial insights for monthly/quarterly global results, with a focus on R&D spend and resource allocations. The role coordinates the BU’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial cadence (forecasting, actual reporting and analysis, budgeting, strategic planning) for the POC R&D function and provides key presentations on financial status at various management team meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Guide the analysis of financial results to determine accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Develop financial reports and reviews with management on financial plans and budgets, including analyses at complex levels (rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, budgeting, and performance comparisons).
  • Ensure conformance to IFRS requirements and coordinate with auditors.
  • Drive and optimize financial performance for R&D and capital investment projects; make data‑driven recommendations to deliver targets; align the organization and collaborate with stakeholders on a monthly basis to implement targeted performance improvements. Include monthly forecast and actual variances, and key project activity/status impacting forecasts for senior management.
  • Conduct Financial Project Plans for ongoing and new R&D projects.
  • Conduct Quarterly ASTAR reporting and compliance certification.
  • Conduct Quarterly R&D tax surveys and compliance.
  • Maintain functional independence and provide a controlling function with proactive communication and analysis to the POC Business Line.
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities For

The Role
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Experience:

    3–5 years of progressive analytical and controlling experience with demonstrated career progression in a similar environment.
Competencies
  • Ability to distill business processes and results into actionable information for senior leadership; very strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and ensure quality; managing activities to meet due dates is a key requirement.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, results and quality orientation, and intercultural sensitivity with the ability to establish virtual networks across cultures and locations.
  • Strong team player with experience coordinating cross‑functional efforts across operations, finance, accounting, audit and external personnel.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management; strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Solid business acumen with understanding of complex organizational structures, reporting, and budget/forecast processes.
  • Strong systems skills in SAP, expert Excel and PowerPoint capabilities; SAP BW experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Healthcare R&D development methodologies and requirements.
  • Understanding of intangible capitalization of development projects and its impact on P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Ability to optimize and standardize process workflows and drive business improvements based on prior experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities For

The Role
  • Master’s Degree, MBA, CPA or equivalent
  • Experience in international business settings and working with multiple cultures
  • Strong experience with data analytics tools
  • Experience in the Healthcare industry with understanding of industry dynamics, especially diagnostics
