Position Description

The Home for Little Wanderer's is seeking a Milieu Operations Manager for its Walpole, MA campus. It is the responsibility of the Milieu Operations Manager to provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight of campus programming, staffing, and daily milieu functioning. This role ensures effective coordination of staff, scheduling, training, and campus-wide operations to support a safe, therapeutic environment. The Milieu Operations Manager provides coaching and training to shift supervisors, direct care staff and Campus Coordinators, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with agency policies.

Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and overseeing key operational functions across the campus.

How You'll Be Making a Difference
  • Work closely with the Director of Milieu Services and Milieu Directors to ensure that life skills and leisure activities align with the agency’s treatment philosophy and protocols
  • Oversee the development and management of the campus schedule for all shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and efficient allocation of resources
  • Maintain and manage the per diem staff pool, prioritizing per diem utilization to minimize overtime across campus
  • Respond to crises on campus and provide leadership and support to staff and clients to manage situations safely and effectively
  • Provide on-shift coaching, mentorship, and real-time training to staff and supervisors to support professional development and effective milieu management
  • Provide and oversee staff training in TCI and Trauma-Informed Care, ensuring fidelity to models and best practices
  • Oversee campus orientation and onboarding processes for new staff
  • Ensure completion and compliance of Residential Counselor and Residential Supervisor training checklists
  • Work collaboratively with Milieu Directors to ensure staff receive regular supervision and professional support
  • Oversee completion of Reflective Practice documentation and ensure quality and timeliness
  • Collaborate with Campus Director, Clinical staff, and others regarding major critical events
  • Monitor residences for safety and ensure staff compliance with treatment interventions and procedures
  • Participate in all in-service training and mandatory meetings; collaborate with management to plan and implement ongoing staff development programs
  • Conduct regular staff observations across shifts and provide constructive, performance-based feedback
  • Evaluate behavioral interventions and staff effectiveness; develop and implement improvements using a team-based approach
  • Assist in evaluating and improving program procedures and the systems that support the work
  • Oversee campus vehicle fleet operations and collaborate with Milieu Directors to ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained
  • Support the hiring of new milieu staff, supervisors and Campus Coordinators
  • Work with Milieu Directors to ensure appropriate staffing for youth appointments and community passes
  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and personal vehicle available for use during work hours
  • May be required to carry a mobile device
  • Performs MAP duties
  • May be required to perform on-call responsibilities
Qualifications
  • 5-7+ years of program experience, including supervision and operational oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and oversee complex operations
  • Strong leadership, training, and staff development skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems
Physical Requirements

Campus setting with multiple residences. Participation in restraints utilizing TCI techniques will be required. Walking, standing, climbing, lifting objects. Exposure to behaviorally difficult children/ adolescents. Ability to work evenings and maintain a flexible schedule.
