Overview
Job Overview We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and support to children and young people living in our residential home.
You will play a key role in helping them develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals, particularly children, in their daily activities.
This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
A background in IT and childcare is advantageous, as you will be expected to engage with various technologies and support children in their development.
Responsibilities- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for children aged 8–18
- Support children with their daily routines, including meals, hygiene, education, and activities
- Promote positive behaviour, manage challenging situations, and follow individual care plans
- Build trusting relationships with young people based on empathy, respect, and consistency
- Maintain clear and accurate records of care, incidents, and progress
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, and external professionals
- Support children with emotional regulation and trauma-informed care approaches
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and regular supervision
- Experience working with children or young people (residential care preferred but not essential)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Emotional resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
- Enhanced DBS check (required)
