Vehicle Technician
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable, family‑run independent automotive workshop in Walsall, seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a well‑established team committed to quality, honesty, and technical excellence.
Benefits- Competitive salary up to £45,000 basic, dependent on experience
- Monday to Friday working hours, 8:30am – 5:30pm
- No weekend work – 31 days annual leave, including Bank Holidays and the Christmas period

- Perform advanced diagnostics and fault‑finding on complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Repair and maintain vehicles, focusing on premium brands, including timing chains/belts, intake systems, brake components, and clutches
- Use diagnostic tools to interpret fault codes and system data accurately
- Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used
- Complete all workshop documentation and job cards precisely
- Keep the workshop environment clean, safe, and organised
- Share knowledge with team members and support a collaborative working atmosphere
- Keep abreast of technical developments and participate in ongoing training
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vehicle diagnostics and repairs
- Strong background working with Jaguar Land Rover or similar premium brands
- Proficiency using manufacturer diagnostic platforms and multi‑brand systems
- Confident in reading wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Excellent electrical diagnostic skills, including use of multimeter and oscilloscope
- Solid understanding of petrol and diesel systems
- Experience with engine, clutch, and timing system repairs
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, reliable, and team‑oriented attitude
