Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Salary: Up to £38,760 and benefits

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

An established Principle Contractor and Designer within the MEICA Process sector, IWS M&E’s specialisms include pump diagnostics and refurbishment, turn-key project management, chemical dosing and control, and plant and infrastructure maintenance with emergency response.
The RoleWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team of Mechanical Supervisors and Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects for some of our largest customers, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mechanical maintenance and engineering solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems across a range of environments. You will support projects spanning environmental and energy management, plant and infrastructure maintenance, and emergency response operations, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Mechanical installation of pumps, pipework, valves and associated equipment.
- Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and site documentation to support accurate installation and maintenance activities.
- Support planned shutdowns, maintenance outages, and project delivery programmes across multiple sites.
- Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while promoting a safe working culture.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and site teams to deliver work safely, efficiently, and within project timescales.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid CSCS Card or other recognised site safety certification preferred
- Have the ability to read and translate schematic and technical drawings.
- Experience of working in the utility sector would be an advantage.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within industrial, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments.
- A full driving licence and there will be an element of working away with the role as and when required.
