The Crown Center for Middle East Studies at Brandeis University seeks a highly organized and intellectually curious Program Coordinator to play a central role in advancing the Center's academic and public mission. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with faculty, visiting scholars, and global partners while supporting high-impact research, events, and publications focused on the Middle East.

Position Overview

Reporting to Center leadership, the Program Coordinator serves as a key operational and communications partner, ensuring the effective execution of programs and the broad visibility of the Center's work.

Key Responsibilities

* Program and Event Coordination (40%)

Plan, coordinate, and manage logistical support for a wide range of academic and research activities, including seminars, workshops, fellow searches, conferences, retreats, and travel to the region. Responsibilities include scheduling, timeline management, participant coordination, and post-event follow-up.

* Communications and Outreach (20%)

Produce and manage internal and external communications, including drafting and scheduling email announcements, maintaining multiple calendars, and supporting outreach to diverse audiences.

* Digital Presence Management (15%)

Manage, update, and maintain the Crown Center website and oversee the Center's social media presence to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging content.

* Publications Support (15%)

Support the production and distribution of Crown Center publications, including Middle East Briefs, Crown Conversations, newsletters, and related content, by coordinating draft circulation and preparing materials for print and digital publication.

* Administrative and Faculty Support (10%)

Provide administrative and academic support to the Center and its faculty, as needed.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree preferred

* One to three years of relevant work experience, preferably in an academic, research, or policy-oriented setting

* Experience with desktop publishing software such as InDesign, email platforms such as Constant Contact, and basic digital design or online communication tools

* Strong organizational, editorial, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment

* Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner

* Social media experience preferred

* Preference given to candidates with experience or academic interest in Middle East studies

* Hiring range: $26.04 to $32.53 per hour (35 hours per week)
