Position: Lecturer in Fine Arts (Introduction to Digital Photography)

The Department of Fine Arts at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for FA 9a, Introduction to Digital Photography, for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters. This four-credit course is a studio class, an introduction to the visual forms and concepts of the photographic image. A range of digital techniques is covered along with aspects of the history of photography, intended for both studio majors and non-majors.

In the fall, the class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:15am – 1:05pm, timing for the spring section will be determined by room availability at a later date.

Candidates with a Master of Fine Arts degree or equivalent and demonstrated teaching at the college or university level will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is April 30, 2025.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
