Position Summary:
Designs and teaches choreography while supporting staging and performance quality. This position supports the district's music program by leading performance ensembles and co-curricular activities while promoting high standards of musicianship, inclusion, collaboration, and school spirit.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct regular rehearsals.
- Select appropriate repertoire that supports diverse and inclusive programming.
- Coordinate logistics for performances, festivals, competitions, and community events.
- Collaborate with Fine & Performing Arts staff and administrators.
- Supervise students and maintain a safe, respectful rehearsal environment.
- Provide artistic leadership, including staging and choreography when appropriate.
- Support recruitment and alignment of district music programs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Fine & Performing Arts.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts educator license in Music preferred or relevant experience appropriate to the assignment.
- Experience directing student ensembles.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Availability for rehearsals, performances, and evening/weekend events as required.
Terms of Employment:
Stipend position. Work schedule is determined by the rehearsal and performance calendar. Compensation Per the WEA Contract.
