The Assistant Area Coordinator (AAC) is a live-in, graduate-level position that supports the residential experience at Brandeis University through placement in either Community Living or Student Rights and Community Standards. AACs work collaboratively with professional staff to support residential students, contribute to community development, and assist in administrative and operational functions within their assigned functional area.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with professional staff within Community Living or Student Rights and Community Standards to support departmental goals and student success.
- Support residential students through engagement, resource connection, and response to community needs.
- Serve as a live-in presence, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive residential environment.
- Participate in a professional staff on-call duty rotation, responding to student concerns, incidents, and community needs.
- Attend and actively contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings, training, and one-on-one supervision meetings.
- Collaborate with campus partners to address student concerns and support holistic student development.
- Supervise, support, and develop a team of Community Advisors (CAs), including providing feedback, guidance, and ongoing training.
- Assist in the day-to‑day operations of the residential area, including administrative responsibilities and community management.
- Assist with case management, documentation, and communication related to student conduct.
- Uphold and educate students on community standards as outlined in Rights and Responsibilities.
The hiring range for this position is $24/hour – $26/hour. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and applicable legal requirements.
