Job Overview

Brandeis University is delighted to announce a career opportunity as the Assistant Director of Community Living in Student Affairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise 2–3 full‑time Area Coordinators and indirectly supervise 1–2 graduate student Assistant Area Coordinators (30% of time).
  • Collaborate with all departmental members to deliver a community advisor program; lead training, development, and retention of student staff (30%).
  • Work with the Associate Director to maintain a high‑quality, customer‑first service philosophy.
  • Oversee hiring and supervision of Community Living student staff (office assistants); serve as second line for operations such as social media, website, student assignments, central billing, and housing‑management software (20%).
  • Assist with professional staff selection and retention as needed (10%).
  • Attend staff and supervision meetings; serve on Administrator on Call duty rotation; perform other duties as assigned (10%).
Education and Experience

M.A./M.S. required; field of higher education preferred. 3–5 years of work experience in housing operations, residential life, student development or programming.

Salary

Hiring range: $58,000 – $63,600. Live‑in position.
