Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director, International Admissions

Brandeis University Undergraduate Admissions is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director/Senior Assistant Director, International Admissions. This person will promote the University at both on and off campus programs, which include public presentations to groups of varying sizes. This staff member will manage a recruitment territory, building relationships with prospective students and their families, school counselors, and representatives from community-based organizations.

In this role, it will also be important to develop a working knowledge of high school curriculums, interview prospective students and evaluate undergraduate applications. This person will serve as a member of the selection team and support the overall execution of strategic departmental and institutional enrollment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage international and domestic recruitment territories – including coordinating and executing travel, attending college fairs and receptions, conducting information sessions, leading high school visits and utilizing virtual outreach.
  • Conduct holistic review of first‑year and transfer applications from the assigned recruitment region and be an active participant in committee discussions.
  • Perform information sessions on‑campus and off‑campus and serve as resource for campus visitors on a regular basis.
  • Correspond with prospective students and applicants, including proactive outreach and timely and appropriate follow‑up to messages.
  • Assist as needed to support various projects and special populations, as determined by the supervisor and the needs of the office. These could include projects such as managing special populations, deposit tracking or working with recruited athletes.
  • Participate in large‑scale on‑campus recruitment events, such as admitted student open houses.
  • Travel internationally and in the U.S. 4–6 weeks in the fall and 1–2 weeks in the spring, including nights and weekends.
Education & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–5 years related work experience.
  • Title and salary commensurate with experience.
What you need to succeed
  • Strong process management skills, organizational skills, problem‑solving, and decision making.
  • Must be organized, an excellent verbal and written communicator, and a strong collaborator, with the ability to work with multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • A successful candidate will build strong relationships with admissions staff and constituents across campus.
  • A valid driver’s license and a valid U.S. passport are both required.
  • Evening and weekend work are necessary during key recruitment periods.
  • Previous experience reading international applications strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English strongly preferred.
  • Experience living or traveling abroad a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of the U.S. immigration system and SEVIS.
  • Computer skills – proficiency with Microsoft and Google Workspace applications required;
    Slate Technolutions preferred.
Work Schedule

The Admissions Office works in a hybrid fashion with exceptions for certain periods of the year. Typically, two scheduled remote days per week are planned after the first three months of employment. We have one day each week when all staff are scheduled to be on‑campus.
