Position Overview
The Department of Biochemistry at Brandeis University invites applications for a full‑time Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2026. The position carries a two‑year appointment with the possibility of renewal and is outside the tenure structure.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe role includes teaching across the Biochemistry and Biology/HSSP programs, covering:
- Introductory biochemistry (BCHM 88)
- Advanced introductory biochemistry (BCHM 100)
- Project lab in protein biochemistry (BIOL 251)
- Elective course for Biochemistry majors (e.g., BIBC 126 Molecular Mechanisms of Disease)
- Elective course for non‑majors (e.g., CDSC 7 Culinary Chemistry)
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field, and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring.

CompensationSalary range: $67,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
