Brandeis University – Part‑Time Lecturer, ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders
The Brandeis University Education Program seeks to hire a part‑time lecturer to teach ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders online in Fall 2026 as part of a master’s degree program in Teacher Leadership.
The course is delivered in the Fall semester of a hybrid program that includes in‑person study on the Brandeis campus during two summers and online learning during the intervening school year. It introduces teacher leaders to action/practitioner research as a form of professional development and a tool for studying their own practice as teachers and teacher leaders. The course lays a conceptual and practical foundation in action/practitioner research and supports students in transforming a problem of practice related to their teaching into a researchable question.
ED 285 includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning and is followed by a Spring semester course in which students conduct a study of their work as facilitators of teacher learning in their schools.
Responsibilities
- Teach ED 285 (Action Research for Teacher Leaders) online during the Fall
2026 semester. - Plan and deliver synchronous and asynchronous course content.
- Guide students in developing researchable questions related to their teaching.
- Facilitate student peer learning and support the Spring semester study component.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in education (or related field).
- Experience teaching action/practitioner research to teachers in a preservice or professional development program.
- Familiarity with Jewish day schools is helpful but not required.
- Ability to work within a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local
509.
Compensation
$6,573.15 for the Fall
2026 semester.
