Assistant Superintendent of CTE K-12
The purpose of this position is to have an individual responsible for supervising and implementing the provisions of Career Technical Education programs, innovation pathways at the high school level as well as the college and career programming in the Waltham Public Schools in accordance with State and Federal regulations and mandates. Working in partnership with the educational leaders of the Waltham Schools, the Assistant Superintendent assures that the curriculum and instruction meets the educational and developmental needs of the students and staff and is in alignment with DESE CTE program guidelines.

Education, Training and Experience
- A Master's Degree in Education or in content area
- Valid Massachusetts State Certification as Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent and/or as Director of Vocational Programs.
- At least five (5) years experience in the field of public education, including experience in administration and teaching.
- Thorough knowledge of State Curriculum Frameworks as related to Career and Technology/Engineering Education.
- Work collaboratively to review/revise CTE courses that align with current state standards.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with effective presentation strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of Chapter 74 programming, Perkins grants and other grant programs related to CTE and college and career readiness
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse groups and audiences.
- Understand DESE graduation requirements, specifically Mass Core
- Promote flexibility and resiliency through thinking critically and creatively.
- Understand and guide practice in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements governing college and career programs in Massachusetts.
