About the Role
Skanska is searching for a dynamic VDC Engineer to join our Civil VDC Center of Excellence in Waltham, MA. Engineers perform 3D, 4D, and 5D constructability analysis for large and complex design‑build and best‑value infrastructure projects throughout the U.S. The work includes developing alternative design concepts for projects ranging from $100M to multi‑billion dollar projects in urban settings using Autodesk’s Design Software such as Civil 3D, Revit, and 3DS Max to create alternate designs, generate material quantities, and support field execution on major bridge, tunnel, rail, and highway projects.
ResponsibilitiesAs part of a team of VDC engineers and managers you will:
- Perform constructability analysis and alternative design development for large infrastructure projects.
- Create 3D/4D/5D models using Autodesk products (Civil 3D, Revit, 3DS Max).
- Generate material quantities and coordinate with construction teams on field execution.
- Understand construction documents and provide design support to engineering and construction teams.
- Knowledge of general construction, roadway, paving, bridges, drainage, etc.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with 3/D modeling/BIM software.
- Prior experience utilizing Autodesk products.
- Ability to understand construction documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil preferred), Architecture or similar.
