LHH has a client who needs a Waltham MA – Senior Project Manager will be working closely with project team members and consultants. Provide coordination, guidance and oversight to ensure that high-quality permit applications are filed, paid, tracked and approved in a timely manner to reduce delays and reputational harm.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the end-to-end permitting process for complex electric capital projects, ensuring permit applications are prepared, submitted, tracked, and approved on time.
  • Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to collect required information and support permit documentation, assessments, and regulatory reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with permitting agencies, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the permitting lifecycle.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with regulatory agencies to address permitting issues, resolve challenges, and ensure timely approvals.
  • Monitor permit status, troubleshoot delayed or high-priority permits, and facilitate expedited approvals when necessary.
  • Track agency comments, ensure compliance with permit conditions, and coordinate timely payment of permitting fees.
  • Maintain organized permit records and documentation within centralized repositories for easy access and compliance purposes.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and permitting changes at the state and local levels, communicating updates to project stakeholders.
  • Support project planning efforts by attending internal meetings to understand project scope and permitting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve permitting processes, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce project delays.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in permitting, environmental regulation, construction, utilities, government, project management, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory permitting processes, particularly for transportation, environmental, utility, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with electric utilities or energy industry stakeholders, with an understanding of utility regulatory environments.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, identify work zones, and understand utility infrastructure and road construction practices.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and reporting skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and government agencies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving permitting challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Maximo or similar work management software is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
