This role provides overall project leadership by managing scope, schedule, budget, contractor performance, permitting, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communications to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.

The position also serves as a key liaison between engineering, construction, customers, and leadership teams while driving continuous improvement, mentoring junior project managers, and supporting the reliable delivery of critical electric infrastructure investments.

  • Oversee the development and issuance of RFPs, perform bid evaluations, and finalize MSAs (Master Service Agreement), EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), EPCm (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management), materials, and construction contracts.
  • Manage project finances and schedules, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines. Identify and address any deviations promptly, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks and optimize project efficiency.
  • Day-to-day management of project teams and deliverables, providing the business with monthly updates on schedules, forecasts (cash flows), risks, and project status.
Facilitate the permitting process by liaising with relevant authorities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements. Proactively address any permitting challenges or delays to minimize project disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including regular reporting on project progress, risks, and milestones. Foster transparency and engagement, addressing stakeholder inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their requirements, expectations, and feedback. Foster positive relationships, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior Project Managers, fostering their professional growth and development. Share expertise, best practices, and lessons learned to enhance their project management skills and ensure a strong talent pipeline within the organization.
  • Continuously assess and enhance project management processes, methodologies, and tools to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and quality throughout the organization. Identify areas for improvement, implement process enhancements, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is strongly preferred. However, candidates with degrees in other relevant fields coupled with significant experience in project management, engineering, construction, and operations will also be considered.
  • 5-7 years of experience in engineering project management, utility construction, or equivalent relevant experience. A Master's degree in an engineering discipline, MBA, or equivalent qualification is desirable.
