Fleet Operations: Application Engineer

Role Overview

Serve as the technical quarterback for fleet health, reliability, and operational execution. Sit at the intersection of Prototype Operations, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Research.

Monitor fleet health, perform rapid system-level troubleshooting, analyze logs and telemetry, and lead technical incident response meetings.

A systems thinker who enjoys solving complex technical problems, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and able to quickly narrow problems without immediately jumping to conclusions.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years supporting complex electromechanical products or technical operations
• Experience managing or supporting an operational fleet of robots, autonomous vehicles, industrial equipment, aircraft, ships, manufacturing systems, or similarly complex assets
• Experience troubleshooting systems that integrate software, controls, networking, sensors, and hardware
• Experience leading technical incident response or operational reviews
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals, and system diagnostics
• Experience using issue tracking and operational management tools such as Jira, Service Now, or similar platforms
