Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (R&D)

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (R&D) will play a critical role in financial and strategic decision making at the Company, providing overall financial business partnering to R&D functions, including budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, monthly and quarterly close, reporting, and ad‑hoc analysis.

The role focuses on supporting internal business partners and external collaborations, including reporting, budgeting, invoicing, financial model updates, and strategic support for senior management and the Board of Directors. The position reports to the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis.

• Develop and own the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process for R&D departments.
• Support month‑end close activities, including accruals, variance analysis, issue resolution, and align with Accounting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to department leads and executive leadership, providing insights and facilitating forward‑looking decision making.
• Provide support to program teams for program‑level decision making and develop recommendations for ELT consideration.
• Lead financial oversight of clinical programs, partner with Clinical Development Operations on cost modeling for ongoing and planned studies, and manage key vendors (e.g., CRO).
• Oversee financial processes including contract reviews and purchase order management.
• Support external collaborations with quarterly reporting, annual and ad‑hoc budget updates, and governance meetings.

• Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis within R&D or pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close processes and financial reporting.
• Ability to develop financial insights and strategic recommendations for executive leadership.
• Experience managing financial oversight of clinical programs and vendor relationships.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑moving, high‑growth biotech environment.
