Hybrid. 11‑Week Program. Up to 40 hours per week – Full Time. Monday‑Friday up to 40 hours (Overtime not permitted). Tuesday‑Thursday on‑site;
Monday and Friday remote.

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for MASH, a serious liver disease with high unmet medical need.

Internship Overview

This internship is designed for students who want hands‑on exposure to how companies manage their tax responsibilities. You’ll work with our Corporate Tax team on both income tax (compliance for federal and state jurisdictions) and indirect tax (such as sales and use tax). You’ll also support important administrative tasks that keep our tax operations running smoothly. You’ll be paired with experienced team members who will guide you through each task and help you build confidence in corporate tax fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Corporate Income Tax Support:
    Assist with preparing supporting documents for corporate income tax filings; support the team in organizing schedules and materials for tax return preparation and learn to review tax forms.
  • Indirect Tax Support:
    Assist with gathering and reviewing information needed for sales and use tax filings; support tracking of indirect tax filing deadlines and requirements.
  • Tax Administrative Tasks:
    Organize and maintain tax files digitally to ensure information is easy to locate; help track incoming tax notices and assist with routing them to the appropriate team members; prepare checklists, summaries, and simple reference materials for team use.
Deliverables or Projects (If Applicable)
  • Special Projects:
    Participate in research assignments on tax topics and summarize findings in clear, simple language; support internal process improvement efforts or audit related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications + Skills
  • Required Qualifications:

    Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks; basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
    Degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields with an interest in corporate tax.
