Position: Support Coordinator (Residential)

Job Summary

The Support Coordinator oversees day-to-day operations in WCI residential programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role ensures person-centered planning, supervises staff, and promotes independence, safety, and community inclusion while maintaining compliance with agency and state regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for daily oversight of assigned home/apartments.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement ISPs including assessments, goals, strategies, data, and progress reports.
  • Select, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff with input from individuals supported.
  • Advocate for individuals’ rights and WCI’s mission by promoting dignity, respect, relationships, and community involvement.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Oversee staffing schedules and ensure coverage meets approved ratios.
  • Conduct on-site orientation and training for new hires and relief staff.
  • Ensure staff maintain current certifications (CPR, First Aid, MAP, PABC as required).
  • Schedule and attend healthcare appointments; oversee medication management and MAP compliance.
  • Review and approve staff timecards within budget parameters.
  • Manage household stipend, support individuals with money management, and ensure compliance with WCI policies.
  • Prepare agendas for supervision, staff, and house meetings; conduct documented monthly supervision.
  • Complete annual performance appraisals with feedback from individuals supported.
  • Train staff in health care plans and emergency procedures; ensure fire drills and safety plans are completed.
  • Maintain a clean, home-like environment through supervision and staff compliance.
  • Communicate with day programs, DDS, family members, guardians, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Implement behavior plans and physical interventions as trained and appropriate.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Supports or Division Head.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services (preferred) with at least one year of experience in developmental disabilities and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Associate’s degree in human services or related field with three years of experience in developmental disabilities and one year of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in developmental disabilities and two years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent writing abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges (PABC) certification or ability to pass PABC training to obtain certification.
  • Experience using multiple systems (e.g., Log Notes, Staff Communication, Data Collection, Progress Notes, Confidential, Medical, and ISP Records, Health Care and Financial Reporting System).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout the day, including stairs. Must be able to physically complete the evacuation plan while supporting Individuals.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs (e.g., files, supplies, groceries)
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs (e.g., assisting with transfers, repositioning individuals, crisis prevention, pushing individuals in wheelchairs, using Hoyer lifts)
  • Ability to provide hands‑on support for personal care as needed per individual support plans (e.g., showering, toileting, assistance with eating)
  • Ability to perform basic household tasks related to program operations (e.g., meal preparation, laundry, routine household cleaning, snow shoveling)
  • Ability to operate or ride in a vehicle; driving is a requirement for most positions and includes driving agency vans, including wheelchair vans, or personal vehicles
  • Ability to secure wheelchairs and assistive devices as needed
