Position: Travel MRI Technologist - $3,370 per week

Job Description & Requirements

Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Waltham, Massachusetts. The position requires a licensed MRI Technologist. Candidates must be willing to work evenings, provide excellent patient care and maintain high standards of safety.

Requirements
  • At least 2 years of recent experience as an MRI Technologist (≥20 hours per week). Proficiency in MRI Technologist II duties.
  • Active license in the required state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficient in MRI protocols and complex procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information to patients, staff, and clients.
  • Ability to learn relevant applications.
  • 2 years of hospital experience in a clinical area; experience in EP preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross‑sectional diagnostic images.
  • Work under the Chief of Radiology and Imaging Services Director, with independent judgment for optimal diagnostic quality and patient safety.
  • Perform patient studies per protocol, placing coils as required.
  • Operate imaging devices, entering scan sequences into computer, adjusting transmitters/receivers, and keying data on the camera keyboard.
  • Interview patients, explain procedures, and address concerns with professionalism.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining protocols, removing hazardous metal, and monitoring patients via closed‑loop TV.
  • Orientation and training of new hires, students, and trainees.
