Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the global Ophthalmology medical strategy and tactics with regional/country and cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain partnerships with retina key medical experts and ophthalmology healthcare providers to inform Global Medical Affairs strategy.
- Plan, develop, and execute high-impact medical activities (e.g., advisory boards, congresses) to gather clinical insights; develop and execute Global Medical stakeholder engagement plans.
- Represent Global Medical at cross-functional forums; provide medical input to guide clinical development, evidence generation, and launch planning in GA.
- Partner with publications to shape and deliver the strategic scientific narrative.
- Review medical content, key manuscripts, and publications; act as primary sign-off where needed.
- Deliver medical presentations at internal training, external congresses, and other key events as needed.
- Create a positive team climate aligned with company culture.
Required Skills:
- Advanced degree required (MD preferred; PhD or PharmD).
- 8+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs;
Ophthalmology-relevant experience required. - Expertise in developing, communicating, and executing comprehensive medical affairs strategy.
- Ability to build collaborations with medical experts; existing relationships in Ophthalmology/retina community.
- Strong working knowledge of US and ex-US regulations relevant to Medical Affairs.
- Agile, self-starter comfortable operating in ambiguity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven record of delivering results against targeted objectives.
- Ability to travel 25–30%.
Skills:
- Medical launch experience and products across lifecycle stages.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with global/regional/affiliate medical teams to align execution with global strategy.
- Ability to manage projects and initiate solutions to complex problems.
