Business Forecast Systems (BFS) is a software development and sales firm located in Waltham Massachusetts, 7 miles west of Boston. The company is best known for its Forecast Pro product line, the market leader in the area of business and demand forecasting. In addition to providing stand‑alone desktop forecasting solutions, BFS’s technology has been integrated with many leading Supply Chain Management, Demand Management, ERP and MRP software systems.
BFS also provides training and business forecasting workshops.
BFS is seeking an entry‑level Software Support and QA Analyst to join our small, collaborative technical support team. As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in supporting Forecast Pro customers through technical support via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams. You’ll also contribute to software quality assurance testing and provide occasional IT support, ensuring both our clients and our internal team have the tools they need to succeed.
This is a hands‑on role where individual contributions make a visible impact, offering an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise while working closely with both clients and colleagues. The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker who takes initiative, communicates effectively, thrives in a role with diverse responsibilities, and is eager to expand their technical skills and grow into increasingly technical responsibilities over time.
The successful applicant will be part of a small, dedicated team and play an important role in several areas including:
- Quickly demonstrate product expertise
- Handle technical support calls/emails
- Meet clients via Microsoft Teams to troubleshoot product issues and ensure customer success
- Perform software quality assurance testing and report findings to the development team
- Maintain and update website
- Experience/familiarity with PHP or equivalent web design languages is a plus
- Support internal IT needs as needed
- Bachelors in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or related field
- Excellent interpersonal and oratory skills
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with web technologies or Salesforce is a plus
