The Senior Cloud Engineer will lead the design, architecture, and migration of enterprise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure within a regulated financial institution. This role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for modernizing infrastructure, improving system resilience, and ensuring cloud environments meet security and regulatory compliance requirements. The engineer will collaborate with infrastructure, security, Dev Ops, and development teams to optimize cloud performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
The role also acts as a key escalation point for complex technical issues and plays a critical role in delivering cloud transformation initiatives.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for migration of on-premise workloads to Microsoft Azure.
- Architect and implement phased cloud migration strategies while maintaining performance, security, and compliance.
- Monitor and maintain cloud environments to ensure availability, reliability, and security.
- Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Pulumi.
- Collaborate with Dev Ops, security, and development teams to optimize cloud architecture and cost management.
- Design and maintain cloud networking infrastructure and troubleshoot cloud-based applications and systems.
Lead infrastructure initiatives from planning through deployment and provide updates on system health and project progress. - Support internal and external compliance audits by maintaining regulatory alignment for cloud environments.
- Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity federation using Microsoft Entra .
- Maintain documentation for system architecture, configurations, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements to enhance scalability and security.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Experience leading cloud migration initiatives.
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure within regulated environments.
- Experience working within financial services or regulated industries.
- Experience implementing enterprise identity and access management solutions.
- Experience supporting security and compliance frameworks within cloud environments.
