Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Deskside Support with 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support. The role involves handling basic networking, data center operations, monitoring tools, hardware troubleshooting, and ITSM tools. You will act as the on‑site support partner, assisting internal teams, customers, and vendors in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. This is a hands‑on role that requires both technical knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with remote teams.

Technical Responsibilities
  • Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points (preferably Cisco, Riverbed).
  • Basic understanding of assigning switch ports to specific VLANs.
  • Patch phone ports to switch as needed.
  • Basic troubleshooting of Avaya VOIP phones.
  • Troubleshoot fiber link issues between switches – able to visualize errors and communicate to remote technical teams.
  • Replace network switch chassis blades when required.
  • Good understanding of any Data Center Infrastructure Management application.
  • Periodic visual checks (minimum twice weekly) of IDF rooms for cooling and power status (UPS alarms and PDU health). Control‑M, EMC Avamar, Data Domain.
  • Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solar Winds.
  • Networking and operating system basics.
  • Assist network and data‑center admins (internal, customer and vendor) with technical troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware like servers and storage devices.
  • Understand monitoring tool outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of ITSM tools, preferably Service Now.
  • Basic knowledge of backup technologies, preferably EMC Avamar.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems – Windows Server 2003 Enterprise/Standard Edition, UNIX & Linux.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003 and File/Print Server.
  • Experience in an SLA‑based environment.
Qualifications

Candidate should have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the areas described above.
