Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer (US‑based) to support key programs aimed at modernizing and enhancing the US network infrastructure. The role will focus on improving reliability, security, and user experience, with major initiatives including the replacement of end‑of‑life LAN hardware and deployment of high‑speed internet services integrated with Cisco SD‑WAN technology.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain WAN, LAN, and SD‑WAN infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
- Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance on network architecture, upgrades, and emerging technologies.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, including low‑level design (LLD) and implementation plans.
- Lead network projects, acting as both team lead and individual contributor, ensuring delivery within timelines and budget.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and managed service providers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered effectively.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configurations, designs, standards, and operational processes.
- Support incident and escalation management, troubleshooting networking issues to resolution.
- Ensure compliance with security, reliability, and risk mitigation standards.
- Prepare and obtain approvals for Record of Change (RoC) documentation.
- Raise and manage Service Now change requests, ensuring all required details are included and approvals are obtained.
- Stay updated with industry trends and recommend innovations to enhance network capabilities.
- Prepare operational readiness artifacts, including configuration standards, as‑built documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer for UTOC teams.
- Strong experience in Cisco networking (LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN).
- Hands‑on expertise in Cisco SD‑WAN (Viptela preferred).
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and enterprise WAN environments.
- In‑depth understanding of Cisco switching technologies (STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLANs, Ether Channel, stacking).
- Experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Service Now, Change Management, and RoC processes.
- Strong documentation skills (LLD, runbooks, operational procedures).
- Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication skills.
- 15+ years of experience required.
- Cisco CCNP (mandatory), CCIE (preferred).
- Experience working in large enterprise or utility environments.
- Exposure to network modernization and transformation programs.
