Business Systems Analyst - Finance Systems Implementation (Hybrid-Waltham, MA)

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support a critical Finance and Procurement systems implementation engagement with one of our biotechnology clients. This consultant will play a key role in requirements gathering, process analysis, solution validation, testing, and deployment activities supporting the implementation of Auxilius and Coupa platforms.
Position SummaryThe Business Systems Analyst will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders, implementation partners, and technical teams to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, system functionality aligns with business needs, and testing activities are successfully executed. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role requiring strong business analysis, documentation, and testing expertise within Finance and Procurement business processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced biotech environment and can effectively drive requirements and testing efforts through implementation and go-live.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Clinical Operations, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process review sessions to understand current and future-state processes.
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), User Requirements Specifications (URSs), functional requirements, process flows, user stories, and use cases.
- Collaborate with implementation partners and internal teams to review solution configurations and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies, scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end business process testing.
- Validate procurement, budgeting, forecasting, requisitioning, approvals, purchase orders, invoicing, payment, and reporting workflows.
- Conduct data validation and reconciliation activities for migrated and integrated data.
- Document testing results, defects, and resolutions while ensuring full requirements traceability.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution.
- Assist with training documentation, knowledge transfer, and change management activities.
- Support go-live readiness and post-deployment stabilization efforts.
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with client standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with business and technical teams to ensure successful implementation outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst experience supporting enterprise software implementations.
- Proven experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
- Strong experience developing and executing test cases, test scripts, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Experience supporting SaaS implementations, upgrades, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to document workflows, business processes, and functional specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional business and technical teams.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, Lucidchart, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, or similar tools.
- Experience with Coupa, Auxilius, ERP platforms, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Source-to-Pay (S2P), budgeting and forecasting solutions, or financial management systems.
- Experience supporting Finance, Procurement, and Accounts Payable organizations.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS implementation testing.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies and implementation best practices.
- Experience with integrations, APIs, reporting solutions, and data migration activities.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of GxP environments and CSV/CSA validation principles.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar certification preferred.
