Evolv is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to evaluate, deploy, manage, and maintain our IT infrastructure and cybersecurity tooling. You’ll be the technical engine behind a fast-growing company—delivering secure, scalable solutions that enable innovation while managing risk. Reporting to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity & Technology, this is a pivotal role in maturing Evolv’s IT Operations to meet the evolving demands of the business.
You’ll collaborate across the organization, build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, and serve as a subject matter expert on IT solutions—from cloud identity platforms and endpoint management to network security and SaaS operations. Success in the Role:What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
In the first 30 days, you will:
- Start building relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company
- Learn Evolv’s compliance commitments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) and how best to support those efforts
- Gain familiarity with the current IT toolstack:
Microsoft 365, endpoint management (Intune/Jamf), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), network infrastructure (Palo Alto, Cisco, & Meraki), identity management (Okta, Entra , Linx) and core SaaS platforms
Within 3 months, you will:
- Begin implementing or improving processes that measurably reduce security risk across the organization
- Build trust-based relationships with peers in IT and key stakeholders across business units
- Become an established subject matter expert on IT solutions and cybersecurity tooling used at Evolv
- Mentor junior IT staff on IT and Cybersecurity best practices and technology use
By the end of the first year, you will:
- Be recognized as a trusted subject matter expert across IT infrastructure, endpoint management, cloud identity, and cybersecurity
- Have driven measurable improvements to the security posture and IT operational maturity of the organization
- Successfully supported compliance requirements and audit readiness, partnering closely with the Cybersecurity and Legal/Compliance teams
- Developed and documented systems and processes that empower the broader IT team and reduce single points of failure
- Contributed to a culture of continuous improvement by delivering iterative, user-focused technology solutions in close consultation with business stakeholders
- Be seen as a go-to resource by colleagues across the company for technology questions, escalations, and best practice guidance

Infrastructure & Systems Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including network, server, cloud (AWS/Azure), and end-user computing environments
- Manage Microsoft 365 product suite including Microsoft Teams & Share Point
- Administer and opt in Okta/Entra (formerly Azure AD), including identity lifecycle management, Conditional Access policies, and MFA enforcement
- Manage network infrastructure including firewalls (Palo Alto), switching (Cisco/Meraki), SD-WAN, and VPN/ZTNA solutions
- Administer virtualization & backup infrastructure, including guest Windows and Linux virtual machines
- Design, configure, and administer AWS environments including core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53), with a focus on security best practices, least-privilege access, and cost-conscious architecture
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure environments, including resource group management, Azure Policy, cost management and budgeting
- Configure, operate, and maintain corporate IT systems including hardware, software, SaaS platforms, and support tooling (e.g. Okta/SSO, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management)
