Formulation Operator I
The Formulation Operator I performs batch formulation of reagents, calibrators, and controls by staging, weighing, mixing, and documenting materials in accordance with established procedures. This role supports manufacturing operations by following GMP and quality system requirements while working collaboratively to meet production needs.
What you'll do:
- Perform formulation of reagents, calibrators, and controls by staging, weighing, mixing, and transferring raw materials per Assembly Procedures (AP).
- Prepare and adjust batches for filling as required, including final batch adjustments and transfer of solutions to designated containers or equipment.
- Accurately complete batch records, logs, and other required documentation in accordance with GMP and quality system requirements.
- Operate, set-up, and use a variety of manufacturing and laboratory equipment including mixers, analytical balances, top loading balances, pumps, and other tools following documented procedures.
- Clean and sanitize formulation equipment, formulation bays and associated work areas in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials and chemicals upon receipt following established procedures.
- Operate and maintain the wastewater neutralization system as required.
- Safely handle chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform routine equipment calibration or basic maintenance, reporting equipment issues, deviations, or safety concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
What we are looking for in you:
- Previous experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, chemical handling, or regulated production environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory or manufacturing tasks such as weighing, measuring, mixing, and transferring materials.
- Ability to read and write English. Must be able to understand and follow written procedures, work instructions, and verbal directions.
- Accurate completion of documentation such as logs, batch records, or checklists.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and unit conversions.
- Exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality System Regulations (QSR).
- Awareness of general laboratory or manufacturing safety practices; willingness to follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and learn electronic systems for documentation and training.
- Ability to safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks, or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong willingness to learn new processes, adapt to change, and maintain a positive, quality-focused attitude.
- Physical Requirements for this role include:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods during the work shift.
- Ability to work alternately in seated and standing positions throughout the day.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, lab coat, safety shoes, bouffant, and cartridge-type respirators, as necessary.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and noise, in compliance with safety procedures.
- Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform accurate weighing, measuring, documentation, and inspection tasks.

Work Location:
on-site in our Waltham facility 5 days/week (M-F) Targeted Salary Range: $27 - $31/hour
Working Hours:
6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
