Role DescriptionThe Waltham Times, a nonprofit local news organization, seeks a new board member with a development and fundraising background. This board member will help sustain and grow our mission of providing trustworthy, local journalism for Waltham. The ideal candidate is a dynamic connector who excels at identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
This board position is a volunteer role. With successful fundraising outcomes, there is an opportunity to transition to a paid part-time or full-time position.
Responsibilities include building relationships with community leaders and local businesses, developing fundraising strategies and campaigns, coordinating donor communications, and working closely with the editorial and board teams to meet financial goals. Candidates should have a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising or development, strong organizational skills, and enthusiasm for community engagement.
Familiarity with Waltham’s civic, business and cultural life is highly desirable.
