TScan Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech seeking to revolutionize life-changing therapeutics for patients by identifying novel T cells and epitopes. We are looking for an experienced researcher to join our team as Principal Research Associate/Associate Scientist in the Molecular Assembly team, supporting our novel target identification and validation workflow in house. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in cloning techniques and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative, and vibrant culture.

A team player with a sense of urgency will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other scientists to design and build various constructs and vectors in support of target/TCR discovery efforts.
  • Assemble large libraries of peptides, TCRs, etc. using specialized cloning protocols.
  • Perform medium- to high-throughput cloning experiments to support discovery efforts in target identification and validation.
  • Analyze and interpret cloning and screening data (e.g., sequencing, functional assays) to guide construct design and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloning and library construction challenges and propose scalable solutions.
  • Lead group efforts towards technology development and improvement.
  • Implement and optimize high-throughput workflows, including automation where applicable.
  • Train co-workers on molecular cloning techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and well-documented experimental records (e.g., ELN) to ensure data integrity and reproducibility.

Requirements:

  • PhD with 0-2+ years of industry experience;
Master’s degree with 5-7+ years of relevant lab experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Hands-on experience in a variety of molecular cloning techniques, including Gibson Assembly, Golden Gate Assembly, Gateway recombination, etc.; experience constructing large-scale libraries is desirable.
  • Highly organized with very strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Scientific creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document experiments in an organized and timely fashion and to present scientific data to coworkers.
  • Familiarity with sequence analysis tools, NGS, and basic bioinformatics workflows preferred.
  • Knowledge of immunology concepts, especially TCR biology and antigen recognition, is preferred.
