We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our drug discovery team focused on developing innovative cancer immunotherapies. The successful candidate will be integral member of a highly collaborative research team and will primarily support both in vitro immunology cell-based assays, and in vivo animal model studies. The candidate will work closely with PhD- level scientists to plan and design studies, conduct precise experiments, analyze and organize results, and deliver high-quality data to advance our immune-oncology programs toward IND-enabling studies and clinical development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced start up environment and wants to make a direct contribution to the development of novel cancer therapeutics. The final title and level will be determined based on education, experience, technical expertise and demonstrated research accomplishments.
- BS or MS in Biology, Immunology, Animal science, Pharmacology, or a related life science discipline with at least 1-3 years of academic or industrial working experience.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with in vivo mouse studies, preferably tumor models in oncology or immune‑oncology.
- Ability to independently perform routine mouse procedures.
- Experience with sterile techniques and mammalian cells culturing.
- Basic molecular and cell biology skills to conduct cell‑based immunological assays.
- Experience with syngeneic and/or xenograft mouse tumor models.
- Experience with ELISA, multicolor flow cytometry and other immunological/cell‑based assays.
- Proficient in Graphpad, Flowjo or other data analysis and graphic software.
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication, organization and multitasking, and working in a highly collaborative and cross‑functional research environment.
- Independently perform routine in vivo studies.
- Perform common dosing routes, including subcutaneous (SC), intraperitoneal (IP), intravenous (IV) administration and oral gavage;
Tumor cell implantation and establishment by SC or IV; - Support and execute mouse tumor studies including tumor measurement, body weight monitoring, treatment administration and study monitoring.
- Perform blood collection, including submandibular/facial vein sampling and terminal cardiac puncture, as appropriate.
- Conduct tumor and tissues collection, processing, and preparation for downstream analyses.
- Experienced in mouse xenograft and syngeneic tumor models are highly preferred. Additional oncology or immunology animal model development experience or surgical skills would be a plus.
- Maintaining and culturing mammalian cell lines and primary cells using appropriate sterile techniques.
- Perform in vitro human/mouse cell‑based assays, multi‑color flow cytometry, ELISA, and other immunological assays.
- Generate high‑quality experimental data, perform data analysis with guidance from scientists.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
