Job Overview
Snapdragon Chemistry is currently seeking an Associate Scientist in Waltham, MA. The role involves designing synthetic routes for continuous flow processing, developing reactor systems with advanced flow technology, and delivering intermediates, APIs, and high‑value specialty chemicals to clients. The position requires working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and collaborating with a team of innovative scientists.
The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in chemistry, has experience in a chemistry research lab, and utilizes kinetic analysis and standard analytical methods. Experience in flow chemistry is preferred but not required. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities- Leverage scientific knowledge to develop technology that solves continuous process development challenges and meets client needs.
- Contribute to activities building upon Snapdragon Chemistry’s proprietary knowledge and technology and fulfill value creation potential.
- Participate in project teams to complete complex deliverables within stringent timelines and communicate results to key stakeholders.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of continuous flow technology, synthetic organic chemistry, and process development principles.
- Ensure the integrity and profile of Snapdragon Chemistry in the scientific community are maintained at a high level, consistent with business requirements.
- Experience performing common organic chemistry laboratory techniques and using common analytical tools (HPLC, NMR, MS, GC, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be creative and innovative, and work productively and efficiently in the laboratory.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills, team orientation, and investment in the success of others.
- Ability to celebrate differences and encourage scientific openness and frank discussion.
- Willingness to comply with and encourage ethical and cultural standards within Snapdragon Chemistry.
A BS or MS degree in chemistry. Experience with continuous manufacturing is preferred but not required.
Salary RangeEstimated salary range: $72,168 – $76,498 for the Associate Scientist, PRD position. Actual base salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and licenses.
