Yoh presents an excellent long-term Research Associate - Automation opportunity with a trusted, long-term client located in Waltham, MA.
This position is part of a major pharmaceutical company and requires a Bachelors of Science with 2+ years of relevant experience in industry or academia, or a Masters or Science with 1+ year. Schedule is full-time M‑F (7am‑8am start time, 8 hour shift) and may require flexibility to work some evenings and overtime due to projects.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in design, planning, optimization and execution of studies to test immunogenicity, efficacy, and safety of various vaccine candidates.
- With manager oversight, design, perform, and analyze experiments in a fast‑paced environment that comply with SOPs; experience with microneutralization assays, particularly for COVID, is a plus.
- Support optimization of the automation protocols and testing of the samples in immune assays as needed.
- Participate in development and optimization and implementation of assays for analysis of immune responses to vaccine candidates.
- Upon appropriate training perform technical procedures and operate a variety of lab instrumentation platforms related to Immunology.
- Upon training analyze and summarize experimental outcomes, record experimental procedures and raw and analyzed data in electronic laboratory notebook.
- Conduct experiments and prepare PowerPoint slides for internal presentations as required.
- Independently manage reagent and sample inventories and coordinate/manage shipments to and from internal and external sites.
- Prepare and write standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documents for methods, instruments, or work processes as required.
- Collaborate as needed with internal partners in other functional areas, external vendors, and external scientific partners and participate in Agile teams.
- Comply with the company safety policies and minimize risk to self, others, and the environment, consistent with the community and industry standards.
- BS with 2 years of relevant experience in industry or academia, or MS with 1 year of relevant experience in industry or academia.
- Degree should be in Immunology, Virology, Biotechnology or related field.
- Knowledge component on automation.
- Technical proficiency with 2 or more immunological assays: neutralization assay, ELISA, MSD, Luminex/Bio Rad platforms.
- Experience in lab automation, specifically for immune assays, is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Good Research Practice (GRP) and knowledge of the compliance requirements for working with clinical trial samples.
- Able to express one’s self clearly and concisely within team.
- Exercises good time management and prioritization skills.
- Able to work in an agile team environment.
- Attention to details.
