Associate Director of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) – Expert

Lead the development and application of mechanistic QSP models to support clinical study design and interpret results across oncology therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and apply QSP models of biological, physiological and pathophysiological processes to evaluate disease pathways, progression and therapeutics.
  • Collaborate with biologists, clinicians, pharmacologists, pharmacometricians and modelers to inform R&D programs.
  • Serve as QSP modeling & simulation point‑of‑contact on project teams, providing mechanistic interpretation of experimental data.
  • Develop state‑of‑the‑art mathematical tools to uncover causal relationships in drug–target–biomarker–disease–patient interactions.
  • Analyze complex datasets within the context of disease mechanisms and pathways.
  • Explore QSP opportunities in combination with other analytical approaches, building synergies with computational groups.
  • Provide scientific and strategic oncology expertise to support clinical decision‑making.
  • Lead model verification && validation activities, establishing context‑driven V&V processes.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Systems Biology or related field with experience in mathematical modeling of biological systems.
  • Proficiency with numerical methods, parameter estimation, ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and complex biological pathway modeling.
  • Computational experience in MATLAB, R, Julia, Sim Biology, C/C++ or similar.
  • Experience with quantitative clinical pharmacology tools (NONMEM, R, WINNONLIN, Simcyp, SAS).
  • Track record of developing mechanistically‑sound PK‑PD models and translating results to project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of best practices and guidelines for mathematical modeling.
  • Understanding of oncology drug development practices.
Benefits & Compensation

Competitive base salary ($151,500 – $252,500) based on location, bonus potential and equity participation; health care and insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and parental leave.
