Job Overview
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) seeks a Humans Rights and Quality of Life Coordinator. This role reports to the Metro Regional Office in Waltham and works directly with Metro Residential Services (MRS), a division of DDS Metro that operates 20 group homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities- Ensures each individual in Metro Residential Services receives a periodic assessment and record review to ensure programming is person-centered and complies with DDS regulations and Quality of Experience certification standards.
- Reviews and audits individual confidential records, including assessments, to ensure they meet unique needs of residents.
- Reviews ISP objectives and goals in HCSIS and supports Residential Supervisors in creating person-centered objectives.
- Collaborates with QA/HR Associate and staff to conduct individual satisfaction surveys and makes recommendations to RSs, DRSs, and MRS Administrators.
- Develops a monthly calendar of events for MRS residences, highlighting activities and special programs of interest.
- Acts as a liaison between MRS and stakeholders, vendors, and businesses to develop relationships and identify resources for residents.
- Attends house meetings to provide input on developing in-house and external activities and events.
- Serves as Human Rights Coordinator, ensuring rights of individuals are respected, protected, and affirmed.
- Provides training on Human Rights to DRSs, Human Rights Advocates, Residential Supervisors, and Residential Staff.
- Provides administrative support to MRS’s Human Rights Committee and reports on training and compliance efforts.
- Maintains a database to track and monitor human rights information.
- Communicates with Executive Director and Director of Residential Supports on human rights concerns.
- Pursues new membership for the Human Rights Committee as needed.
- Serves as liaison to the Regional Human Rights Specialist.
- Coordinates self-advocacy group MRS Speaks Out, including meetings, training, and conference participation.
- Directs internship program through Urban Youth Collaborative, identifies placement opportunities, and oversees interns.
- At least three years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in investigatory or law enforcement work, or regulatory administration work.
- For candidates with a Bachelor's or higher degree, the degree may substitute for required experience.
- Knowledge of resources for self-advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to apply conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with adults who are developmentally disabled.
Position is Full-time, 40 hours per week. Days shift. Days off:
Saturday and Sunday. Flexibility required to meet office needs.

Salary range: $65,578.50 – $94,378.44 annually.
