The RHYTHMIA HDx Mapping System is a cutting‑edge 3D cardiac mapping and navigation system used during minimally invasive electrophysiology (EP) procedures. It enables real‑time visualization of intracardiac catheters and delivers high‑resolution 3D maps that help physicians locate and treat arrhythmias with precision. The system dynamically builds anatomical models as the physician navigates the heart, powered by advanced rendering and algorithmic techniques for accurate, immediate feedback.

As a
Software Test Engineer II
, you will be a key member of our product quality team based in Waltham, MA. Working in an Agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with developers to build, execute, and document tests across software components—from user interface and algorithms to back‑end data. In addition to manual testing, you may contribute to automation efforts, leveraging tools like Python, Linux, and industry‑standard platforms such as Jira, Jama, Jenkins, and Squish.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases to verify system functionality and ensure alignment with business and user requirements.
  • Perform manual test execution or run automated test scripts.
  • Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Document test results and produce formal reports for regulatory submissions.
  • Diagnose issues and report bugs and enhancements in the tracking system.
  • Share product knowledge with peers and demonstrate product functionality as needed.
  • Contribute to defining test strategies, methodologies, and data setup processes.
  • Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies such as daily scrums, product reviews, and bug triage sessions.
  • Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, field support, and other cross‑functional teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience in software testing or a related field, or minimum of 1 year’s experience with a master's or advanced degree.
  • Degree preferably in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Product quality and testing experience, ideally in the medical device industry.
  • Working knowledge of test automation in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Programming experience in Python, C, or C++ (desirable but not required).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to master complex software and adapt to new technologies.
  • Experience in an Agile Scrum development environment.
  • Logical thinker with sound problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with ISO and FDA documentation and compliance standards for medical devices.
  • Prior experience with ultrasound devices (preferred but not required).
