The Platform Security team designs and delivers core security capabilities that power the Pega platform architecture. Security is foundational to building robust, end-to-end enterprise applications, and this team ensures that foundation is strong. We focus on building a secure platform using industry-leading security practices and technology, so clients can build and operate applications in a secure, trusted environment.

In this role, you will work on core security features of the Pega platform architecture. Security is critical to building end-to-end enterprise applications. You will be part of a team that builds software that is scalable, observable, upgradable, highly performant and fault tolerant.

• Deliver high quality software with minimal defects that conforms with design patterns and best practices.
• Provide inputs to design documents and API docs.
• Own and drive a story from design through completion.
• Understand and follow Dev Ops practices and complete assigned tasks.
• Learn and become subject matter expert in application security features such as encryption, authentication, and authorization.
• Provide effort and time estimates to complete work.
• Contribute to development of test framework and write/execute various test cases (unit/contract, etc.).
• Follow Scrum practices and report status, progress and impediments in a timely fashion.
• Continuously look for opportunities to learn and improve skills.

You are a high-energy software engineer who can envision innovative solutions for new feature development, implement efficient testing across Pega platforms, and work effectively as an individual, as well as part of a team. You must have a strong Java development background and be prepared to learn Pegasystems’ technology. You are expected to think independently but also value teamwork to design and develop high-quality software.

Previous experience with data access technologies is preferred.

• 2-5 years of software development experience, preferably in a product development company.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of and practical experience with Dev Ops and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Practical knowledge of software design patterns.
• Practical knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with project planning and effort estimation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team to brainstorm, plan and develop new features.

Base salary range for this role is 85, USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus or commission, as well as benefits and other incentives. Final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications, and may vary from the posted range. Information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components will be shared at the relevant recruitment stage.
