Position Title: Science Teacher
Reports To: Building Principal / District Administration
Employment Type: Short-Term Leave Replacement (No Benefits)
Salary: BA Step 1 ($61,455) following the district's salary guide.
Job GoalThe Elementary Teacher will:
- Deliver an approved elementary education program and create a classroom environment that supports learning and personal growth.
- Help students develop essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes that provide a strong foundation for continued education.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and the school community.
- Develop lesson plans and classroom learning activities that support state core curriculum content standards and district educational goals.
- Use board-adopted curriculum and additional appropriate resources to promote active learning.
- Prepare age-appropriate lessons that address the individual needs, interests, and ability levels of all students.
- Set clear instructional objectives and ensure lesson delivery effectively meets those goals.
- Create opportunities for individualized and small-group instruction.
- Monitor and assess students' academic progress and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress using board-approved documentation methods.
- Identify student needs and adapt instruction to support them.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning through effective behavior management.
- Use class time efficiently and design assignments and assessments that promote critical thinking and content mastery.
- Prepare students for state assessments.
- Model professionalism in behavior, communication, dress, and overall conduct.
- Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, written reports, and other methods to discuss student progress and school programs.
- Utilize community resources to enhance the instructional program and support student learning.
