Qualifications

Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate and appropriate Special Education Endorsement or eligibility.

Minimum experience as determined by the board.

Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and ability to maintain a positive learning environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver, or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment.

Provides instruction to classified pupils in accordance with each pupil's individualized education program.

Works cooperatively with regular education teaching staff to coordinate instructional activities, and to monitor the progress of each pupil, and provide support instruction in the regular classroom setting.

Salary

Placement begins at the BA Step 1 ($63,405) level and may be higher depending on experience and education, following the district's salary guide.
