Position: Production Manager – Glass Manufacturing (On-site)

HEPCO Inc. is seeking an experienced Floor Manager to lead daily production operations within a modern glass fabrication facility. This is a direct hire, permanent placement opportunity responsible for overseeing shop floor operations, production personnel, quality standards, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and workplace safety.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IGCC-certified Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) production, Low-E glass processing, production scheduling, inventory control, and manufacturing leadership.

Key Responsibilities Production Operations
  • Oversee daily glass fabrication operations, including:
  • Glass Cutting
  • Tempering
  • CNC Machining
  • Edging & Polishing
  • Drilling
  • Insulated Glass (IGU) Assembly
  • Manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and improve throughput.
  • Coordinate production priorities with sales and customer service teams.
  • Ensure custom fabrication orders are completed accurately and on time.
IGU & Low-E Glass Production
  • Oversee the manufacturing of IGCC-certified Insulated Glass Units (IGUs).
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM E2190 standards.
  • Supervise spacer assembly, sealant application, gas filling, and final inspections.
  • Ensure proper handling and processing of Low-E coated glass throughout production.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and supervise production staff, including operators, fabricators, inspectors, and material handlers.
  • Assign daily production goals and responsibilities.
  • Train employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, quality standards, and Low-E glass handling.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, quality, and safety.
Quality Assurance
  • Maintain quality standards throughout all production processes.
  • Oversee in-process and final inspections.
  • Investigate defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure products meet customer, company, and industry requirements.
Inventory Management
  • Manage inventory of glass, IG components, sealants, spacers, desiccants, and gases.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability.
  • Implement FIFO inventory practices.
  • Monitor scrap, breakage, and waste reduction initiatives.
Safety & Facility Management
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and safe work practices.
  • Conduct safety meetings and incident investigations.
  • Maintain SDS documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee housekeeping and 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and organized facility.
Equipment & Maintenance
  • Oversee operation and preventive maintenance of Automated Glass Cutting Tables.
  • Automated Glass Cutting Tables
  • CNC Machining Centers
  • Edging & Polishing Equipment
  • IG Assembly Lines
  • Cranes and Vacuum Lifting Systems
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, and machine utilization.
  • Track scrap rates and inventory metrics.
  • Generate production and operational reports.
  • Partner with ownership to drive continuous improvement and support company growth.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in IGCC-certified IGU manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM E2190 standards
  • 5+ years of Low-E glass processing experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or floor management experience
  • Experience with inventory management and material traceability
  • Strong knowledge of glass fabrication processes, including cutting, tempering, CNC machining, drilling, edging, and IG assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production work orders
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an IGCC-certified facility
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, or production management software
  • Experience in structural glazing or high-volume tempered glass manufacturing

Pay Range: $50,000- $60,000 per year (Depending on experience and qualifications)
