Duties Description Reporting to the Park Director's Admin, this Office Assistant 1, provides support to the Park Director, Assistant Park Director, and the Director of Operations. They will perform entry-level clerical and office support work to assist park administration and operations. Duties will be performed in accordance with Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) policies and procedures.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Maintaining records and files; retrieving, compiling, and organizing information.
* Data entry, basic arithmetic calculations, and document preparation.
* Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, and PowerPoint presentations.
* Answering telephones and providing customer service to staff and the public.
* Assisting with preparation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
* Mailing, supply ordering, and inventory control.
* Assisting with payroll processing and answering basic payroll-related questions.
* Reviewing payroll and human resources-related documents for completeness.
* Providing administrative support for park and region-wide events.
* Assisting with Parkwide and other park-related regional projects as assigned.
* Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current permanent non-competitive state employees certified eligible for the 55-b/c program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55-b/c of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. To be considered, you must provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response and meet the HELPS qualifications listed above.
